Quickspin to Introduce 5,000x Multiplier in New Sci-Fi Slot Set for Release on Sept. 11
Posted on September 3, 2018
Swedish game provider Quickspin is set to release Big Bot Crew slot this September 11. The game, featuring a payout of up to 5,000 times the player’s bet, will be Quickspin’s first title to highlight a sci-fi theme.
Big Bot Crew is a robot-themed game that has five reels and four rows with 40 paylines. It also has a return-to-player percentage of 96.58%. Players can place their bets from 0.40 to 100 coins per spin and win up to 5,000 times their stakes.
The slot prides itself with its high volatility rate of 4.96 out of 5. For Quickspin’s standards, Big Bot Crew is one of the slots with the highest rated volatility. Other titles from Quickspin do not even reach the volatility scale of 4.85.
Quickspin’s game developer, Jacopo Volpin, thinks that there is an audience for games with high volatility as he said:
“I guess the same players that like Sakura Fortune [slot], sharing the same high volatility, they might like this game. Of course, it has different mechanics and a different theme, but we try to do our best to make the whole game interesting for those kinds of players.”
Big Bot Crew can be compared with Quickspin’s other slot, Sakura Fortune. Both games have fully-stacked Wilds and high volatility. Some players look for a game with high volatility as the chances to win big are high. Highly volatile games pay big but on occasion while low volatility slots give out small frequent wins.
A New Thematic Direction for Quickspin
According to Volpin, among Quickspin’s 41 available slots, Big Bot Crew is the first sci-fi themed slot on the platform, he added:
“I think we are filling a gap that we have always missed. Superheroes, or robots in this case, we have never tried before. Sci-fi, we have never really tried before.”
The game has a total of 11 symbols, composed of nine regular symbols, Bonus Scatters, and the fully-stacked Wilds. The video slot’s high-paying symbols are represented by the game’s characters: Matsuo, Danielle, Joaquin, and the blue and green robots they have built. Matsuo is the highest-paying symbol in the game with 7.5x the player’s stake for a combination of five. Meanwhile, mechanical gears are designed as low-paying symbols.
Polina Mozgovaya, Quickspin’s lead artist, made the game’s characters diverse as she stated:
“The action in this game, the story, is placed in the near future. We have these three robot builders. They all actually have a different race and different look, so we try to do it diverse. We have the main guy [Matsuo] who is like the brain behind the idea of building the robot. We have a girl [Danielle] who is a programmer, so she’s programming the robot. We have a mechanic guy [Joaquin]. We also have two helper robots, these are our medium symbols.”
Big Bot Crew’s sci-fi theme has provided a new thematic direction for the developers and artists of Quickspin.
Bigbot Wilds and Spins
This game features a 4×1 Wild symbol called the Bigbot Wild. The symbol presents itself only on reels 2, 3, and 4 in the main game and on any of the five reels during re-spins. Having two partial Bigbot Wilds will lead to a “nudge” in which the Wilds will fully cover the reel.
Having two whole Bigbot Wilds will trigger the Re-Spin feature. The number of re-spins will depend on how many Bigbot Wilds are present on the reels. The more Bigbot Wilds appear, the more re-spins are given.
Scatters are also available in the game. When three bonus Scatter symbols simultaneously appear on reels 2, 3, and 4, the player will get eight free spins.
During the free spins period, the Big Bot Wilds can appear on all reels. If partial Wilds are present, they will nudge and remain throughout the bonus.
When the reels are filled with Wilds, players get 400 times their stake. With the additional five free spins from the triggered Re-Spin feature, the maximum payout can be 5,000 times the stake.
Slot players can start playing Big Bot Crew with real money in Quickspin’s partner casinos on September 11.
